Amazon Selling Groceries

Word came out officially that Amazon is selling groceries, the online category that held the most promise and flamed out most dazzlingly at the end of the Internet bubble. Does anyone remember Web Van? Anyway, Amazon is now selling a lot of non-perishables at their site, including coffee for the mass market. They are not however expanding their selection of ESE pods – no surprise, ESE pods are not the volume item that let’s say cold cereal is, but hey one can only dream. Amazon does however offer “Gourmet Food” at their site, and they feature many ESE pods from several vendors, including Aloha Island Kona Coffee, Starbucks, PodMerchant, Illy, and Lavazza. Not a bad start, better than my local grocer.
