ESE Review: BioAroma Organic Espresso Pods

MarCafe’s BioAroma pods come to us courtesy of Miami Espresso an importer of great Italian ESE espresso coffee pods, and ESE machines. The MarCafe's BioAroma is an organically grown all Arabica gourmet blend of coffee from the Chiapas region of Mexico. It’s grown according to traditional methods without chemical fertilizers or pesticides in the cool mountainous air that’s needed to turn Arabica coffee into the flavorful bean that we know and love. The coffee is produced in Teramo Italy and packed into individual foil packs.
These ESE Espresso pods are made to be used in popular makers like the Breville Café Roma, the Krups XP4050 and the Hamilton Beach 40729 espresso machines; all have the ability to use ESE Espresso pods.

A great, welcoming earthy aroma bursts from the package when you open the pod. When you brew the BioAroma, beautiful rich espresso bubbles out with a nice layer of crema to top off the shot. In tasting the BioAroma espresso, it has a strong up front espresso flavor, moderately bitter with a clean back end finish. There is not a lot of lingering viscous espresso flavor due in part to the lack of robusta coffee in this espresso pod.
The strong up front notes will make it stand up to milk for decent cappuccinos, with a very clean finish. If you like a bit of that full bodied espresso finish, you might want to look elsewhere. However, this is a great clean espresso with the added bonus that it’s organic and free of all those chemicals that are used elsewhere. Friends of ours try their best to buy organic as much as they can, and these BioAroma pods are favorites of theirs.

BioAroma ESE Pods are available in variety packs, or alone in several sizes at Miami Espresso.
