Free Starbucks Iced Coffee Promotion – No More

Starbucks thought that they would try a little marketing magic for a free iced coffee, and apparently the genie got a little too hard to control. Starbucks pulled the plug on what was going to be a 5 weeklong promotion after an email coupon spread farther than originally anticipated. I mean come on folks, haven’t you used the forward button on your email?

The offer began Aug. 23 with an e-mail offering a free Starbucks iced coffee from noon to 9 p.m. through Sept. 30. It was sent to "a limited group" of employees in the Southeast with instructions that they share it with friends and family. Well apparently “friends” means a pretty big circle, and they killed the promotion after it was obvious that they were going to lose their shirts in the deal. Oh, well. Better luck next time.
