Review: DeLonghi Magnifica EAM3500 Super Automatic Espresso Machine Arrives for Review
We are very happy to have the DeLonghi Magnifica EAM 3500 Super Automatic espresso machine here for review at the SingleServeEspresso.com test kitchens. The unit has an impressive list of features, and the one that stands out for me is the one-push latte/cappuccino button. Yes, at the touch of a button this will make you your favorite latte or cappuccino. The unit comes with the capability to draw milk automatically from a pitcher that attaches to the steam outlet and either steam or froth the milk right into your cup. The unit then grinds, tamps and pulls an espresso shot right on top for a beautiful espresso drink right before your eyes.

The Magnifica EAM3500 is the top of the DeLonghi line and has a long list of features to pamper you in espresso dreams. It has an adjustable whole bean grinder, or when you are in the mood for something a little different you can use a by-pass doser to change things up for a different shot using pre-ground coffee. Like its super-automatic brethren it grinds, tamps, extracts for a great espresso, and then dumps the used coffee puck into a used grinds bin. It is very customizable with the ability to adjust the amount of coffee and water used to make your coffee or espresso. I have found in the past that this takes a bit of experimentation, but once you have your settings down, it's very easy to get a consistent shot time after time. The unit comes with two attachments that will either froth or steam the milk from an included pitcher. So, one top can create very frothy capps and the other make subtly steamed milk for a nice latte. Worried about keeping the milk pitcher clean? Well, at the push of a button, it will steam clean the lid allowing you to put a clean pitcher back in the frige without the fear of it gumming up with dried out, caked on, gross milk.
We'll be putting the Delonghi Magnifica 3500 through its paces over the next few weeks and let you know before the Holiday buying season what we think of it.
