Outpresso - Recycles your Nespresso Capsules

Coming off our review this past week of the NexPod refillable plastic capsules for the Nespresso machine, reader Geoffrey turned us onto the OutPresso, a device to help press the coffee out of the Nespresso capsules and recycle the aluminum pod. Nespresso maintains a recycling program in Switzerland, but where you can't get to one, you can certainly use an Outpresso to recycle your capsules in a municipal recycling stream with other metals.
The cost is just under $30 where available at their website - they appear to ship all over.

It's tough to find any reviews of this product, so I'll add my comments in the event that it might help others.
I ordered on January 2nd, received an order confirmation (in German!) but never got a shipping confirmation. It arrived today - 9 business days later, not bad - and I am so far very impressed. The pods fit extremely well into the Outpresso (almost snapping into place) and it's very easy to press the coffee out. If you've ever tried to use the back of a spoon on a Nespresso pod, you know that it's not as easy as it sounds. But this thing is designed really, really well and I can't really imagine how it could do any better than it does. After you press a pod, a tiny bit of coffee still clings to the underside but is easily brushed off. From my short experience trying both new/old pods, it seems like a good idea to wait until the pods are a day or two old before you press them - otherwise there will still be quite a bit of moisture in them and it'll be a little messier. All in all, highly recommended for all earth-conscious Nespresso users!

It does work quite well, and we all want to recycle, now don't we.
