Nespresso Lattissima+ (Plus) - One Button Latte Machine in New Smaller Size

Nespresso has been pushing (down) the limits on small size brewers with the Citiz and then the Pixie introductions in the last few years, but they are now reapplying that capability to a fully automatic espresso and steamed milk machine that can crank out Lattes and Cappuccinos with the push of a button. The newly designed Nespresso Lattissima+ is a small, full featured brewer that uses the familiar Nespresso capsules, fresh milk and some incredible engineering to crank out cafe style drinks in short order. The result is a machine that is about the same depth and height as a Nespresso Pixie and only about two Pixies wide. (It would fit perfectly on my counter - we're working on getting a review unit in.)

The Lattissima+ is a quick heating machine that is ready in under a minute to brew up a Latte, by simply pouring milk into the detachable tank, dropping in a Nespresso capsule, and hitting the right button. The Lattissima+ will brew up the espresso, and by pushing steam through the new steaming/frothing unit, the steam will siphon milk, heat it, aerate it (adjustable), and drop it right into your cup or mug. The settings are customizable to specially tailor your drink to either foam the milk or simply steam it - see the dial below.

The 19-bar espresso system will be on par with any other Nespresso machine on the market today, and some of its smarter features make it obvious that the engineers spent some time working on the design here. The cord can be fully extended, or partially routed through a recessed cavity in the bottom of the machine to two shorter lengths. The unit is a zero power unit when shut off; no phantom loads and no wasted energy. The unit de-powers itself after just 9 minutes of non-use to keep the overall energy consumption low.

The new Nespresso Lattissima+ measures about 9.5" x 7" x 12" (HxWxD), which is about an inch shorter, and about 1.5 inches smaller in the other two directions. The Nespresso Lattissima+ comes in four colors: Blue, White, Silver and Red.
