Review: Cafe Vergnano Nespresso Compatible Capsules
We recently talked about Cafe Vergnano Nespresso Compatible Capsules in Australia and they are now available in a limited fashion at some Bed Bath and Beyonds.
There are several Nespresso compatible capsules on the Euro market: Sara Lee's L'Or EspressO, Denner, and Ethical Coffee. You may also be able to refill your own stainless steel capsule in the near future.

Cafe Vergnano 1882 Intenso
I grabbed the Cafe Vergnano Intenso, a dark, rich espresso - "The long lasting bronze creaminess enhances the distinctive flavor of dark chocolate in African coffee. Its long aftertaste recalls savory notes of toasted almonds with slightly spicy tones."
Each capsule comes in an individual pouch, with a box as an overpack. The capsules are made with Biode biodegradable plastic. According to the Cafe Vergnano, the capsule will degrade, but is not considered compostable for composting waste streams.
Cafe Vergnano - Taste
Whoa - the flavor on the Vergnano is pretty intense; hence the name. It is full bodied, and dark, but not burnt. The flavor profile is a "Classic" italian Espresso type with a lingering robusta flavor to it. I happen to like that, and am impressed with the capsules.
They have four varieties of their Caffe Vergnano 1882 coffee, Intenso, Cremoso, Arabica, and Decaf. Caffe Vergnano comes in biodegradable plastic capsules, made of Biode plastic, which has been certified as biodegradable under controlled conditions.
