New Nespresso Grand Cru: Linizio Lungo

Nespresso_Linizio_Lungo.jpg

Nespresso announced that they have a new capsule in their Grand Cru line called the Lizinio Lungo, a capsule designed to help welcome in the day. With its split roasting, Nespresso brings together Colombian and Brazilian coffee to bring out the highlights of each origin. The Brazilian brings out a roasted cereal and malt note, while the Colombian brings out the bright light notes.

The Linizio Lungo's name comes from the Italian word inizio, which means the beginning, inspired by the bright flavors and its intended use as a breakfast drink. It's lighter and less intense than a lot of other Nespresso capsules, as the Linizio comes in at a "4" on the "10" intensity scale.

The orange capsule will get its own orange stainless steel Pixie Cup in the spring.

Available now at the Nespresso Club website or at the Nespresso Boutiques.

Nespresso has perfectly rounded out its range of highest quality coffee with the latest permanent Grand Cru, Linizio Lungo, designed to get your day off to the perfect start. Linizio Lungo is a rich, smooth, velvety coffee with mild character and sweet round cereal notes, expressly created for America's morning coffee drinker. Linizio Lungo's longer cup size and cereal character make it perfect for drinking in the morning – now you can wake up every day to the perfect cup of coffee!

Created to provide a longer cup of coffee, Linizio Lungo joins the family of existing Nespresso Lungos – Vivalto Lungo, Decaffeinato Lungo and Fortissio Lungo. With the addition of Linizio Lungo – with a light intensity of 4 – there is now a Nespresso Lungo for virtually every part of your day.

Origin of Linizio Lungo

Linizio, derived from the Italian inizio – the beginning, or initiation – evokes the start of the day. A pure Arabica from South America, Linizio Lungo is a well-rounded blend made of Brazilian and Colombian coffee. Nespresso coffee experts used a split-roasting technique in the creation which emphasizes all the aromatic richness of its origins, specifically highlighting the cereal, malty notes of the Bourbon beans sourced from Brazil featured in this exclusive blend. The Linizio Lungo Grand Cru, which will be part of the permanent Nespresso Lungo range, is designed like the rest of the range to be savored in a long cup or combined with fresh milk in cappuccinos and lattes which adds caramelized notes while preserving the roasted flavor.

Reflecting the time it is best enjoyed, the Linizio Lungo capsule is the warm, orange color of the sun as it rises. The perfect partner for serving Linizio Lungo is the Pixie Linizio Lungo cup, launching in the spring, which is a double-walled stainless steel cup in the same vibrant orange color as the Linizio Lungo capsule.

Availability

Linizio Lungo will be available starting February 4, 2013 at Nespresso Flagship Boutiques (New York, Miami, Boston, and San Francisco), Nespresso Boutique-in-Shop locations, through the Nespresso Club (1.800.562.1465) and at www.Nespresso.com. A sleeve of Linizio Lungo will sell for $6.00.
