Bodum has a nice espresso cup line that I thought I would pass along; The Paula collection of cups. These black on white designs are ready for entertaining and while all different fit together nicely into a modern looking collection of espresso cups. The set is a sturdy 2-ounce porcelain design.

Bodum Canteen Espresso Glasses

BodumCanteetnEspressoGlass.jpg
I really enjoy my Bodum Pavina glasses (they are my everyday espresso glasses), and I thought I would also pass along a slightly different design based on the same double walled borosilicate glass technology that creates an elegant way to serve up a shot of espresso as it seemingly hangs in midair. Because the glass is double walled, your fingers stay cool and the espresso stays hot. The Bodum Canteen glasses are available in different sizes: 2 ounce Espresso glasses and a nice 13-ounce "grande" latte/coffee size. I love them for everyday, but they also transition to entertaining very well, and of course the cool factor makes them a great gift for the espresso or coffee lover.

Blackboard Mugs

backboardmugs.jpg

I know that these are a long way from a demitasse for espresso, but I thought these were cool and wanted to pass them along. The mugs are made so you can write on them with chalk, so you can craft whatever design or message you want. The chalk washes off in the dishwasher. I am not sure if I am going to get some for my kids’ hot chocolates or for their teachers as a present or both.

Blue Illy Cup Collection: Jan Fabre

illycupJanFabre_blue.jpg

Known for their cup collections as much as their coffee, Illy has a new one out that is a striking set of blue espresso cups that can be a beautiful addition to any espresso lovers kitchen. From the original art statement of their famous Matteo Thun illy cup design until now, illy has asked emerging artists to come and design espresso cup collections, and Jan Fabre has the latest design. Jan was motivated by the Blue Hour, that time between night’s last darkness and the first light of the day. A limited edition of 6 cups is available from Illy for $100.

Serse Freddo Glasses for Cold Espresso Drinks

serse_freddo.png
Designed by emerging artist Serse Roma, these glasses have undulating waves of silver inspired by the sea of Trieste. The new glasses from Illy come to life when filled with an iced espresso drink or potentially as the headliner at an intimate setting for a few espresso based cocktails. They make an elegant gift and are available through the Illy website for $60.
