Latte Printer Prints Latte Art and Logos on your Latte

First there was sky writing, then those beach printers that roll out logos in the freshly cleaned beach sand, and now there is a prototype to print on the foam of your Latte (or your Guinness). Not sure how I feel about that, but the prototype could use some venture capital to get production ready and available to your local barista. I think I'll stick with nothing or the occasional latte art that is a show of skill and appreciation for your business.

Latte Art Frothing Pitcher

Latte Art is one of those signs of an experienced and practiced barista who takes a little pride in their work. It's always fun to see when grabbing your latte at your favorite shop. A lot of people also work at home to get a great latte art habit going, and it can help to have the right equipment. I saw this, and thought I would pass it along. The specially shaped pour spout can help get a good pour and produce a better design.

More Great Latte Art
I haven't written on Latte art in a long time, but this caught my eye yesterday in the Seattle Post Intelligencer and I just had to pass it along. Tired of those "Plain old designs" well there are a few there that may just blow you away.

New Wave Espresso
There’s a nice video up on the NYT website that talks about the New Wave Espresso as an artistic reality in NYC. They highlight two shops, Gimme! Coffee (a favorite of ours with roots in Ithaca NY) and Ninth Street Espresso. The video walks through the care that a great barista will take to get you a truly excellent espresso. They also show some very nice Latte Art on the video.
Click HERE and then search for “espresso” to pull up the video.

Latte Art Movie
So we've put a few posts that can help you with Latte Art, now we found a video that can help you too. Below is a video from You Tube that shows some decent latte art. It's not too hard, but somehow, mine still turn out looking like mud. I keep cranking out the espresso shots (they go fast with a bunch of ESE Pods lined up), frothing the milk and doing the pour, and I almost got one this past weekend, but my leaf looked more like an ink spot. I'm going to keep trying, there's always the next Latte.

More on Latte Art

More on Latte Art – come on, you know you would love to be able to turn these beauties out yourself; I can’t yet, but I keep trying. I found another good solid site for showing you to take some steam, espresso, and some milk into Latte Art, and thought I would pass it along. This one has some nice photos and diagrams of how to accomplish the seemingly impossible, turning your own milk into a work of art. Me? I am still trying. Stay tuned, maybe I’ll share.
